Say “goodbye” to incontinence, and say “hello” to a restored pelvic floor.

EMSELLA from $179

The Emsella chair by BTL is designed for both men and women to effectively help restore the pelvic floor muscles and the bladder by creating greater control and neuromuscular strength in the pelvic region.

The Emsella is a revolutionary, non-surgical and non-intrusive treatment for urinary incontinence and a weakened pelvic floor

The treatments can greatly decrease urinary and urge incontinence by repairing the pelvic floor muscles. In addition, it can have the extra benefit of improved sexual function, resulting from the tightening of the vaginal walls. This improves the vaginal laxity women can experience after giving birth.

The Emsella, also known as the ‘Kegel Throne’, uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy to stimulate deep pelvic floor muscle spasms, known as super maximal contractions. The repetitive stimulation leads to regained control over pelvic floor muscles and bladder to reduce the severity of stress urinary incontinence.

The effects are instant and ongoing. Patients reported that with just six treatment cycles in three weeks, their incidence of stress urinary incontinence was improved by 95%.

Each 28min session is the equivalent of doing 11,200 kegel exercises!

Most people require six treatment sessions over a three-week period averaging two treatment sessions a week in order to combat their urinary incontinence.

The Emsella Chair for Women

Pelvic floor issues and urinary incontinence can be more common and noticeable in women that have given birth vaginally and may be experiencing vaginal laxity. Additionally, the beginning of menopause can aggravate any existing issues. The most frequent pelvic floor muscle issues for women are:

  • Urinary Incontinence: an unintentional urinary leak when you exercise, laugh, sneeze or cough.

  • Urge Incontinence: caused by an overactive bladder and persistent urges to go to the toilet where you may not be able to make it in time. This may include not being able to make a short car trip without needing to go to the toilet at your destination or getting up numerous times in the night to go.

  • Vaginal Laxity: a sense of ‘looseness’ or laxity in the vagina can also be an issue, leading to a decreased sensation during sex. This can be especially problematic after a vaginal delivery.

  • The Emsella represents a new category of technology that provides a non-invasive treatment for pelvic floor muscles in incontinence and intimate discomfort.

  • Firstly, the Emsella helps patients to restore the control of their bladder, pelvic floor muscles and eliminate incontinence or any kind of intimate discomfort. Secondly, the Emsella is a truly non-invasive procedure where patients remain fully clothed.

  • The Emsella is the only procedure that targets pelvic floor muscles and causes deep pelvic floor stimulation because of HIFEM technology. All other procedures such as intravaginal electrostimulation have a risk of burns and lack the effect as the electrical current treats tissue only superficially (not even mentioning the need to insert the disposable vaginal probe!)

Comparing to Kegels, patients are not able to properly contract pelvic floor muscles, build the routine to do Kegels at least 3x per day and do them in hundreds of repetitions to see some results.

  • The Emsella is a great option for women of any age who desire solution for urinary incontinence, recovery after childbirth, and improvement in the quality of their intimate life.

  • The Emsella is TGA cleared, medical CE-marked, and represents the first innovative technology that has shown in multiple studies to treat incontinence and intimate discomfort. When you come in for a consultation, we will cover how the Emsella works and discuss the unique safety profile in detail.

  • That is the best thing about the Emsella - patients say it is completely painless.

The procedure feels like an intense pelvic floor workout. You can sit on the Emsella and relax during the treatment.

During your consultation, our staff will be more than happy to let you experience the unrivaled comfort of the procedure.

  • Compared to other procedures, there is absolutely no downtime with the Emsella. You can get back to any daily activity immediately following the procedure.

  • No, this treatment would not improve a bladder or uterine prolapse. Please consult your doctor for the treatment of prolapse.

  • This may vary depending on your age, physical condition, and many other aspects. In general, patients begin to feel tangible results right after the treatment. Positive results typically continue to improve over the next few weeks.

  • Nothing in life lasts forever and this will vary according to your health condition.

The clinical studies show that the majority of patients are able to maintain the results 6 months after their treatment series. However, we recommend booking another consultation a few months after your treatments to see if you may benefit from any additional treatments.

We usually recommend a series of six treatments, twice a week for three weeks, for optimal results - but this can be less depending on your personal needs.

Keeping a healthy lifestyle is the key to maintain your results in the longer term.

  • Women who are pregnant cannot use the Emsella.

Other contraindications that exclude someone from Emsella treatment include:

    • having a fever

    • having a cardiac pacemaker

    • having any implanted defibrillators or neurostimulators
